December Angel

Songtext

I’m your angel in December
watching over your long winter days.

Paper stars on foggy windows,
little hands in cookie dough;
Fairy lights above the teacups,
chocolate steaming in the glow.
Crafting chaos, humming carols,
cinnamon in every room
And I watch your humble houses
stretch themselves towards the bloom.

Lists and queues and crowded pavements,
supermarkets past midnight;
“What do we cook? And who brings what?”
Silence rarely shows tonight.
Hundred parties, hundred faces,
hugs exchanged in speedy turns;
Tired eyes and hopeful laughter
somehow everyone returns.

There’s a place set for the missing,
those you ache for in the year;
Video calls across the time zones
soft goodbyes and “I am here.”
Old December songs unlock the
childhood drawers you tucked away;
In the chaos grows a stillness
and a quiet thanks today.

Some stand silent by the window,
watching lights and tasting snow;
Radios breathe gentle warmth,
but the heart stays faint and low.
I am near, I walk beside you
every weather, every tone.
Winter hearts sometimes just need
a tender “you’re not alone.”

Christmas turns your feelings up
all the ones you’ve held all year.
You may hold them, you may breathe them
don’t be frightened by the fear.
Love is bigger than the wrapping,
bigger than the tidy plan:
When we soften, when we find each other
that’s the miracle of man.

Nothing has to be perfect
only honest.
Wrap the year in mercy’s light.
Make the room a little warmer
let your people in tonight.

Christmas turns our feelings up
everything we’ve held all year.
We can hold them, we can heal them
let the quiet draw us near.
If you’re lonely—I can see you.
If you’re weary—I will stay.
I’m your angel on December duty
and I warm your winter way.

I’m your angel on December duty
and I warm your winter way.
